“Let Me Hear You” is a theatre project based in Zagreb that explores everyday experiences of foreign workers and migrants living in the city.
We meet people, listen to their stories, and create a space where experiences that are often unheard can be shared. These can be stories about work, arrival in a new country, communication challenges, loneliness, support, or moments of connection.
The project includes informal meetings, conversations, and workshops. Participation is voluntary, and you can choose how much you want to share. You do not need acting experience.
Our goal is to create a respectful and safe space where people can speak, be heard, and, if they wish, take part in a creative process that will later become a theatre performance.
With your permission, conversations may be recorded and become part of our artistic process. At a later stage, two participants may be invited to join the creation of a theatre piece, though there is no expectation to take part in this.
Participants whose stories are recorded (audio or video) will receive compensation for their contribution and the two participants invited to join the performance will be compensated for their work as well.
We especially welcome foreign workers and migrants currently living in Zagreb.
If this invitation speaks to you, we would be happy to hear from you.
We’re happy to communicate in simple English if that feels more comfortable.
Every story is important.
If you are interested in participating or learning more, please contact us by May 20th.

About the performance:
Let Me Hear You explores the lives of people who feel invisible, unheard, and disconnected in a new environment. It focuses on encounters between those who speak different languages and often cannot communicate in words. The performance raises questions about how we can understand each other without language, and whether we are willing to truly see and listen.
The work is created through a collaborative process with migrants, using their personal stories as inspiration. It combines movement, sound, light, and video to create a sensory and emotional experience. Instead of a traditional narrative, the performance invites the audience to slow down, observe, and connect through presence and empathy.
